These are character designs and backgrounds for a short film I directed entitled, 'The Bicycle', which is a humorous tale of mismatched comparisons. It made it's debut at the MOCINE Narrative Film Festival in New York, NY. I based the style on vintage children's book illustrations created using a combination of ink wash on paper, watercolor, and digital renderings.
